More than 50% of patients hospitalized for heart failure (HF) are reported to have HF with persevered ejection fraction (HFpEF). In addition, due to its complex pathophysiology, disease heterogeneity, and cardiac- or extracardiac-related comorbidities, limited therapies are available to treat HFpEF.
