I am a Cardiothoracic Surgeon. Of late I have noticed that very few people are opting for M.Ch in Cardiothoracic surgery, the seats are going vacant. M.Ch candidates are necessary for surgical assistance, ICU care, presentations etc. Without them the work suffers, and we feel overloaded.

In turn the surgical skill is gradually passed on to them. We are trying to recruit Qualified Physician Assistants. I would like to know opinion of Medical fraternity, whether that is a right step.
