India has issued a travel advisory urging citizens to avoid nonessential travel to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, and South Sudan after the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the ongoing Ebola outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). The outbreak involves the rare Bundibugyo strain of Ebola, for which no approved vaccine or specific treatment is currently available. As part of precautionary measures, Indian authorities have strengthened airport surveillance and advised airlines to follow enhanced health safety protocols for passengers arriving from affected regions.
