Intense fasciculations were seen with low doses of succinylcholine lead to— intense cardiovascular stress, the rise in blood pressure, the rise in heart rate, ST elevations, hyperkalemia, myalgias, postoperative discomfort, etc. Though advocated widely and looks safe— Low doses of succinylcholine for intubation actually cause so many problems to the patients. My experience with these so-called safe low doses is this. I observed these changes in many patients.

Good anxiolytic analgesic pre-medication, good depth of anesthesia, followed by a good dose of depolarising muscle relaxation— give the best quality of induction and intubation. Share your views.
