The therapeutic regimens as recommended by the National TB Control Programme (NTCP) have shown to be highly effective for both preventing and treating tuberculosis. The risk factors regarding TB and its treatment include inadequate patient-provider interaction, patients with instances of missed doses, side effects to TB drugs, frequent outstation duties during the treatment period. Implementing DOT strategy to ensure treatment adherence have shown impressive results with low default rates.
