The current scenario in last few decades indicates that the intake of different drugs in the pregnant women has increased considerably. Although total avoidance of medication is not possible, the health risk associated with an irrational use of certain unsafe medicines during pregnancy must be avoided. This article is an attempt to spread awareness about certain drugs that are sold in the market and can be dangerous in pregnancy without a proper prescription. A recent report stated that over 2,000 fixed dose combinations (FDCs) drugs including some top brands in the Indian market are placing a high health risk.
