Which part of gall bladder is more essential? Mucosa or Muscularis layer? Bile concentration or the release of bile by CCK? Cholecystectomy is a very common procedure everywhere.
But can't a gall bladder be spared? If the gallbladder mucosa can be dissected off by opening the gall bladder and mucosal grafts from jejunum(or any more suitable mucosa) is made, can the gall bladder survive and maintain its normal function? What will be the bile concentrating capacity? Has it been attempted anywhere or it is just a foolish thought?
