One of my friend, who runs a private clinic for cosmetic and reconstruction surgery, is performing a hormone replacement therapy on a 35-year-old male patient for his sex reassignment surgery. One fine morning, the wife of the patient came to the clinic and threatened my friend to take legal action, as he did not take informed consent from her to perform sex reassignment therapy and surgery on her husband. She claimed that this therapy will affect the conjugal life of the couple, therefore, the doctor must have taken her consent to proceed with the therapy.
