1.When I was MBBS student, i had a very nasty case of impacted molar, which eroded my buccal mucosa pretty deep...Dr.appadurai was chief Dentist in our college .He did the extraction in his private clinic since he was going on leave. he had to break them into pieces to remove them. After the procedure, I asked him about the fees, he said none required, it is an ethical obligation for a doctor to treat a fellow medical professional freely(eventhough I was only 2nd yr student). He asked me to treat any doctors/staff nurses who comes to me freely.

2.similarly, My Chief in Psychiatry had to undergo a surgery(costing around 30000 ), the doctor who treated him didnot charge a penny for him.After a repeated request , he agreed to receive only the money for drugs he gave him during IP stay.(0nly 500-600 totally). Are they correct ? Should Doctors follow ethical guidelines among themselves or…
