Is it illegal to practice medicine in a state in which you are not registered? If a doctor is shifting to another state and get registered to the new state medical council, what happens to the original medical council registration ? What about the emergency situation ?

What about the processing time (around 1-2 months) of registration to another state? Please don't guess, is there any documentary proof?
