An 8-year-old girl has acute pain abdomen, admitted in hospital and diagnosis of acute appendicitis was made.patient was operated and biopsy confirmed acute inflammation. After 3 weeks, the patient again has severe pain in abdomen and admitted in ICU. This time, diagnosis of typhlitis was made. A complete course of antibiotics ceftriaxone and metronidazole was given for 15 days. The girl's father being doctor has second opinion of u/s abdomen.
Radiology consultant was dead sure of inflamed appendix. But, operating surgeon did not agree with it saying it is minor operations before my experience. After 6 months, the patient again has severe abdomen pain, was admitted to another hospital with acute appendicitis and peritonitis where patient again operated for appendicitis and remained in ICU.
