Case presentation A 54-year-old man presented to the oral and maxillofacial health department with the complaint of difficulty in chewing food for the past two months. Furthermore, the patient reported the development of a painless, brown lesion with a surrounding white patch on the right side of his tongue for the past year. The patient had no specific history of smoking or alcohol consumption. The oral lesion measured 8 mm × 7 mm, and the patient had no palpable cervical lymphadenopathy.
