Corruption in medical education was so rampant that MBBS seats were being sold for 50 lacs to 1-2 crore and a PG (MD/MS) seats were being sold for 2-4 crores and MCH/DM for an even much higher amount. Therefore, Supreme court (SC) passed the rule to conduct NEET exam for MBBS and PG seats but even after this, the first government brought an ordinance to facilitate rich politicians of some states for one year and later brought law to check it under public and SC pressure.
But still many private medical colleges have admitted students against money without caring of law, open advertisements are sent to many students through social, print media and by SMS or by their agents that seats can be booked in advance giving donations, such is evident in the picture attached below.
