Is it necessary to take written consent from a patient before prescribing HIV test in a antenatal case or just verbal consent is enough after informing the patient about the utility of the test? Can a pathology lab issue a HIV test report just on the prescription (on which HIV test is asked) of the physician or it is also the duty of the lab to ask for the consent.
