Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrinopathy affecting women in the reproductive age group. The prevalence of PCOS varies from 8.7% to 17%, and 70 to 80% of them suffer from infertility. In vitro fertilization (IVF) is usually the third-line treatment for infertility in PCOS. However, if the initial evaluation reveals a bilateral tubal occlusion and/or concentration of recovered motile sperm of less than or equal to 5 million, IVF can become the first option, along with lifestyle modifications.
