Jammu and Kashmir has surpassed Kerala with the highest life expectancy in India for all ages, except for life expectancy at birth, according to latest data released by the Registrar General of India. J&K has an IMR of 34, closer to the national average of 39 and Kerala has an IMR of 12 yet within the toddler age group (1 to 4), Jammu and Kashmir has the lowest proportion of deaths in India - 0.1 percent of all deaths.
