The Indian Medical Association (IMA) Kochi branch, has planned to set up a job bank for doctors, as several doctors face unemployment or lessened job options in Kochi. Doctors accept that there is a rising mismatch between supply and demand of doctors, also polarization by city and region. There are places, especially metros, where too many doctors are applying for jobs and there are other places, especially rural areas, where no one is applying because they dont know about the job opportunities around. IMA Kochi president said that doctors don't have a common listing and hence are confused about the search of employment.
