India accounts for 59.9% of all rabies deaths in Asia and 35% of all rabies deaths globally. These numbers are crucial as it depicts the importance of rabies prevention. India is far behind WHO’s mission of ‘zero by 30’, which emulates other developed countries. The theme for World Rabies Day 2018 is ‘ Rabies: Share the message, save a life’ highlighting the importance of education and awareness to prevent rabies.
