The Government of Karnataka has undertaken a digital initiative to improve the public health facility in the state. The aim of this initiative is to provide advanced technological support in the management of medical subsidies and operations at Public Health Centers (PHCs) in the state more efficiently. Under this initiative, Government of Karnataka has collaborated with a tablet company which has already handed over 1,000 Tablets to the Department of Health, Government of Karnataka. It is the first commercial tablet which has been approved by the UIDAI for Aadhaar and KYC verification.
The tab itself is SIM enabled and can scan the iris of a user, which can be verified via Aadhaar. This will enable PHCs in the state to build a digital database.
