The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has demanded authorities to take immediate action following the tragic rape and murder of a female PG resident doctor at a medical college in Kolkata. The 32-year-old doctor was found dead in a seminar hall on the college campus on August 8 th . On Saturday, the IMA demanded immediate action from the authorities within 48 hours. On the same day, Kolkata Police arrested an accused and remanded him in their custody.
However, resident doctors and medical associations across the country have been staging protests demanding protection for all healthcare workers at the workplace.
