Indian Institute of Medical Research (ICMR), Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) and Institute of Health Metrices and Evaluation (IHME) in association with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare conducted a study for analyzing health status in India. According to the study, the health status from 1990 to 2016 showed: 1. Diabetes: The number of cases of diabetes has scaled up from 26 million to 65 million . Tamil Nadu has highest no of cases of diabetes while Punjab is second in the list. 2. Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease: The number of cases of Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease has also increased from 28 million to 55 million.
