A 12 years old girl was admitted in hospital with abdominal pain. U/S abdomen showed uterus normal in size and shape, rt.ovary normal and left ovary there was heterogeneous mass at TO region. Laparotomy showed left ovary small necrotic gangrenous which was excised. The patient again had pain U/S abdomen report by the second radiologist showed. Uterus bicornate with haematometra in left-horn.
In court, the surgeon could not support his diagnosis and justified his decision of removing left ovary, as Histopathology Of Organ Removed was not done and hence his diagnosis and decision of removing left ovary proved wrong. Histopathology report if done could save the doctor from charge of negligence . What is your opinion? Kindly share.
