An asymptomatic male, 18 years old with hepatitis-B- surface antigen positive , on multiple occasions since childhood asymptomatic, HBeAg negative, DNA copies less than 20 units/ml, SGPT approx 2 times normal, parental concern is about future marital prospects and risk of transmission of HBV to future progeny, even if the spouse is vaccinated. My question is for hepatologists/gastroenterologist/neonatologists.

What marital counselling or preventive strategy plan should be given to such persons?
