While opening a new medical college in Orissa, our Health Minister JP Nadda informed that out of 502 Medical colleges in India,118 medical Colleges opened since 2014-15 and out of 52000 seats in the year 2013-14 now there are 70000. He opened 4 Medical colleges in 04 district hospitals and reiterated our PM goal to open a medical college in every district HQ of our country. But there is another side to it too.
More than 100 first-year students of a new private medical college in Kancheepuram district, which was subsequently debarred by the Health ministry from making admissions, have moved the Madras High court seeking a direction to transfer them to any other medical college. The plea sought a direction from the court to transfer them fromwhich has become defunct, to other medical colleges.
