As per today's scenario in Indian subcontinent, we doctors are too casually prescribing the magic drugs (read as Antimicrobial agents). I was literally amazed to see, how judiciously these magic drugs are used in the western world. The problem lies in our education system. The lack of interest in pharmacology for both medical and dental school students is due to showcasing pharmacology as a non clinical subject. The basics of pharmacology are rarely understood and more rarely applied.
'Nausea & Vomiting' are the universal and all time favorite adverse drug effects for any given drug as a medical student. Who cares we are only taught to memorize and throw up in exams. The non-judicious use of magic drug is manufacturing a very sick generation in our country. Most common in dental clinics & hospitals the use of magic drug is devastating.
