Doctors in China removed over a 100 fish bones from a man's rectum after his meal a week earlier, consisting of two servings of boiled carp, which he swallowed with the bones, thinking he would pass them. However, the man, a resident of Sichuan Province, had to seek medical help after complaining of acute pain while defecating. As per the state-run Global Times, a CT scan showed tight clusters of fish bones stuck in the rectum of the man who is in his 60's.In the two-hour procedure, doctors worked to pull around 100 of the needle-like bones from the man's anus.
"A patient with this many fish bones was a first for us," a doctor from a Hospital of Sichuan University said.
