Epilepsy classification is cumbersome and basic version and extended version adds to the confusion more. By using MRI scan it is possible to have only four types of epilepsy and easy to plan for treatment. MRI showing mesial sclerosis and related changes, mainly pointing to temporal lobe epilepsy. Calcified granuloma commonly in frontal lobe areas and not a very significant lesion but producing a grand mal type of epilepsy. Tumours of any lobe presenting as epilepsy No lesion in MRI and presenting as epilepsy. can be called as idiopathic type. Using this methodology planning for management is very easy.
