We had an extensive discussion on OT designing! Thanks to the inputs. Many useful information was shared. To summarise, OT should have walls made of material that does not have crevices and material used should be non water absorbing (to test, put a piece of it in water, and weigh it before and after that. If there is no weight change, than it has not absorbed anywater!) so that moisture which encourages microbial existence is not prevailing in OT.
Size of OT should be large, say about 20 X 20 ft. ro near about. Properly executed AHU is desirable, but is not a must for Ophthalmic OT. Window ACs are not desirable as they have vents connecting to outside.The environment in the OT should be clean, dry (use of dehumidifiers to 50) and the air should be continuously filtered and cleaned by an effective system.
