After MBBS, I went to Delhi and prepared for PG in the year of 1997 onwards. Finally I cracked the entrance exam in Chandigarh and selected for MS in a premier institute. My first posting was Neurosurgery department which was quite busy department. The euphoria of getting PG seat was vanished as soon as I entered the Neurosurgery department. When I entered neurosurgery ICU it was a horrible experience for me.

Most of the patients were unconscious; some of them had hole at air pipe and some of the patients were in ventilators. It was quite a new environment for me because during my MBBS period I had never seen such scenario as there was no Neurosurgery department in Dibrugarh.
