Medical Council of India has issued a stern warning to students aspiring to enroll in medical and dental programmes against falling prey to offer by touts guaranteeing seats for the money. A senior MCI official said anyone tempted by such offers and skipping NEET counseling, which is mandatory for medical courses, runs the risk of having his or her admission canceled, said reports. Many aspiring students are getting text messages from touts promising them seats in private medical colleges for anything between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1.25 crore.

These touts are promising them direct admissions to colleges without counseling which is strictly against NEET rules. Reports say that touts are offering admission in private medical colleges in UP and Karnataka by paying the donation.
