The NMC officials have informed that the National Exit Test (NExT) will be held in the first half of 2023. The announcement was made following a review meeting held between the Union Health Minister and the NMC officials. Ways to make NExT a world-class standard examination were also discussed in the meeting. About the test NExT will be considered as the final qualifying exam for MBBS students.
The students have to qualify for this exam either to obtain a license to practice medicine in India or to get admission to post-graduate medical courses. Foreign medical graduates also need to clear this test to practice in India. A mock test is also being planned to be conducted in 2022, to test the operation and reduce anxiety among medical students.
