Using the quote of Supreme Court, The Tamil Nadu Doctors’ Association stated that government need not to take permission of MCI for increasing MBBS seats in the state. It recommends "If a private university can increase 100 seats, then several premier institutions of government can also double their capacity. The government must seek health ministry’s approval at the earliest." However, earlier MCI inspections had suggested few lacunas in most MBBS colleges in different states to increase the existing capacity.
Both Doctors’ association and MCI, in this case, have same intentions of improving medical education. However, deciding who is right in such situation requires opinions of various brains. What is your opinion on this move?
