Gastritis following use of NSAIDs is Prostaglandin mediated and not due to its local effect and this should occur even with parenteral route of administration. Why is then PPI (Omeperaxole & Pantoperazole) is invariably prescribed with NSAIDs for prevention of gastritis. Is it a rational use or a propaganda by multinational drug companies to boost sales.

These companies have made billions of dollars with this? Wrong practice. I request experts to comment.
