The health ministry has rolled out an online facility making it mandatory to submit proposals for setting up of new medical colleges as well for increasing seats in existing ones online from academic session 2016-17. The online registration is an add-on procedure which will run in parallel with the conventional procedure of manual submission of applications and has come into effect from August 1. The move is aimed at making the entire process more transparent, a statement issued by the ministry said.

Applicants or colleges desirous of filling an application for purpose of establishment of new medical colleges or increase intake capacity of MBBS seats will have to visit the health ministry's website and go to the link of medical education (online application system).
