October has been chosen as the “National Dental Hygiene Month by the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA). Hence it is appropriate that an article on Oral and Dental hygiene is not out of place now, although this article has been written by a Cardiologist and not a Dental surgeon!! The purpose of the article is only to highlight the importance of dental and oral hygiene in general medical practice so that we can give proper guidelines to our patients.
