The Surat Municipal Corporation sealed over 150 hospitals a few days ago for lack of fire “No objection certificate (NOC)” or “Building Use Certificate (BUC).” This action was taken following the fire incident that happened in Rajkot, Gujarat, last month that killed 27 individuals. To resolve this issue, the affected doctors conducted a meeting with the authorities of the Indian Medical Association (IMA). Over 300 doctors, hospital representatives, and the Surat unit of the IMA attended the meeting.
The IMA ensured that doctors' committees would be formed to handle the problems of all the IMA members.
