The National Medical Commission (NMC) has amended the passing marks criteria for MBBS exams in the Competency Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum guidelines released on 1 st August, 2023. Amended passing criteria In subjects containing two papers, a candidate must secure a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate to pass in the said subject Candidates must obtain 50% marks in aggregate and a minimum of 60:40 or 40:60 in university-conducted exams separately in theory and practicals (practical/clinical assessment and viva voce) to be declared as passed in that subject. Earlier passing criteria For passing in subjects that include two papers, the candidate shall obtain a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
