Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) causes female infertility, affecting 4-20% of women in reproductive age, worldwide. This condition not only affects the childbearing years but continues far beyond that and is a lifelong health condition. The three main features of PCOS include irregular periods, excess androgen, and polycystic ovaries. The presence of at least two of these features leads to the diagnosis of PCOD. The exact cause of PCOS is yet unknown with obesity regulating insulin levels being considered the major contributing factor to the condition.
