As per government statistics of 2011, the expenditure on healthcare in India was $ 62 per capita as compared to $hrilanka $ 93, Brazil $1119, China $274, USA  $8467, UK $3659. As a percentage of GDP, India spends 3.9 % of GDP out of Government spends only 1.14 %. In India, 30 % healthcare is by the public sector and 70 % is by the private sector. USA spends 17 % of GDP on healthcare and is 50: 50 private and public, UK spends 9 % of GDP on healthcare and id 80/90 % public and 10/20 % private.

National health policy 2017 purposes to raise health care expenditure to 2.5 % of GDP in near future. My concern is that it is grossly inadequate for worthwhile improvement in healthcare. Please opine and give your valuable suggestions.
