In view of the frequent attacks on doctors and damage to hospital properties, the Andhra Pradesh Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association and IMA(former united AP) had represented  repeatedly to AP government the problems faced by medical community and requested the then Chief Minister to intervene and prevent the assualts on doctors and hospitals.After going through the various problems of doctors and hospitals AP government issued an Ordinance in 2007 " The Andhra Pradesh,Medicate Service petsons and Medicare Service Institutions(Prevention of violence and  Damage to Property ) Ordinance,2007.And this Ordinance was passed as an Act in 2008  by AP State Legislative Assembly replacing the Ordinance and this Act came into effect from 18th December 2007.The following are salient features of the Act.
