Pioglitazone does not cause diseases like cancer of the urinary bladder for which it was discontinued, this came in an article about 8 years ago in the Medical Journal of Australia. Here in Goa, the medical council had banned the use of this medicine, putting an advertisement in newspapers, now please ask them to correct it.
Before this Rosiglitazone was banned, ban removed, but not manufactured again. Most patients of DM respond nicely to pioglitazone and they use to respond to rosiglitazone also.
