Mucormycosis is an angio-invasive fungal infection caused by mucormycetes infecting the air sinuses, brain, and lungs. It can be life-threatening in severely immunocompromised patients. Several reports suggest that the oral and craniofacial region is highly susceptible to mucormycosis infection.
