The World Economic Health Forum’s Precision Medicine Programme shows its interest as “aims to support the development of policy frameworks and governance protocols to realize the societal benefits, and mitigate the risks from, precision medicine.” It includes “Companion” diagnostic tests that are able to identify who is likely to benefit from a particular medicine or suffer from side-effects and also possible dose adjustment. It is a genome and environment-specific diagnosis and treatment. Precision means exactness or accuracy. The term Precision Medicine has been used in some papers since 1999.
