Diabetes is one of the commonest co-morbidity we come across in surgical patients. Many of these patients are unaware and as such are picked up in routine preoperative blood tests. In many of many cancer patients who often are in their mid fifties I find the postprandial blood sugar level high often in the range of 160-180 mg/dl while their fasting levels are within the normal.

How to treat this patients and which antidiabetic drug to choose and start with these cohort of moderately nourished thin built plus fifty cancer patients with  only moderate postprandial high blood sugar levels? Kindly advise and share your opinions.
