We are a not for profit health start up, delivering primary healthcare services to the marginalized communities in South Rajasthan. In partnership with Academy of Family Physicians of India and Niti Ayog, we hosted a National Consultation on Strengthening Primary healthcare in Rural India. The report of the consultation is well received and provides recommendations, among others, on how to retain and motivate physicians to work in rural areas. It argues that forcing doctors to work in rural areas is a not so good policy option, but skilling, providing good living and working conditions and continued education are critical.
