In India, every year 40,000-50,000 individuals are diagnosed with brain tumor. Out of this, 20% are children. World Brain Tumor Day is celebrated on 8 th June annually to direct attention to people that are confronted with this serious disease and the urgent need for more research. Brain tumors may be primary tumors or metastases from tumors elsewhere in the body. The symptoms of a brain tumor are determined by its location and size.

Some patients can be treated by surgical resection, with the aim of reducing symptoms and improving prognosis. Non-surgical treatment options include chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
