The TRISCEND II trial established the superiority of transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement (TTVR) over medical therapy in patients with severe tricuspid regurgitation (TR), leading to its US approval in 2024. A recent real-world registry analysis further evaluated its safety and effectiveness in 1,034 patients (mean age, 77.1 years). Valve implantation was successful in 98.4% of cases.

Among treated patients, 98.4% achieved mild or less TR immediately post-procedure, which was sustained in 97.7% at 30 days. At 30 days, adverse event rates were low, including all-cause mortality (3.1%), stroke (0.2%), bleeding (7.9%), new cardiac implantable electronic device implantation (15.9%), and heart failure hospitalization (3.1%). Significant improvements were also observed in functional status, with 82.7% of patients in NYHA class I/II, along with a mean increase of 22.4 points in KCCQ-OSโ€ฆ
