The Medical Council of India has recently introduced an amended criterion for doctors who aspire to teach in medical institutions. The updated clauses were published on 16 August 2019 . The amendment was revised from the “Minimum Qualification for Teachers in Medical Institutions Regulations, 1998”, released on 1 November 2018 This revision was done under the heading “Broad Specialties (MD/MS/DNB) from the previous amendment dated back to 31 October 2018" (for more details click here ) and defined the experience required by a senior resident to teach in a medical institution.
According to this amendment, a senior resident is defined as the one who is pursuing his or her residency in their respective postgraduate subject after receiving their PG/ Diploma degree.
