Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is increasingly encountered in routine clinical practice, particularly among patients with obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiometabolic risk factors. While many patients have a relatively benign course, the presence of advanced fibrosis is associated with substantially worse hepatic and extrahepatic outcomes.
