When I was in service, a 12 years boy came with C/O burning micturition. X-ray pelvis showed urinary bladder stone of size of table tennis ball. As there was no anaesthetist in tribal area, I decided to cystolithotomy under local anaesthesia. I Infiltrated xylocaine at incision site but has no effect. I asked the boy whether he is alcoholic, surprisingly he agreed.

Then again xylocaine infiltrated at the site of incision. Fortunately effect came and I had done cystolithotomy, bladder stone of size of a large table tennis ball Was removed, bladder closed after Foley's catheterisation. Corrugated rubber kept, wound sutured by layers. Patient discharged uneventfully after 8 days.
